Here you'll find the games I've played, sourced from, and/or have in my top 10 games of all time. The carousel will be updated, alongside a list of games that rotate every week depending on what I'm currently playing. Below each game will be a song from either the OST (original soundtrack) or from an in-game radio. The top 10 will probably not be added for a while as I have to consider the games and my reasoning, as well as actually add the list. The games in rotation will likely not change between weeks unless I exit a phase/"obsession" with a specific game.

Games turned Real

Massive thanks to my supervisor for the idea.

  1. A Minecraft Movie
  2. A Minecraft Movie

This movie is a prime example of what you want when you make a video game adaptation. The jokes online, the fire song in the advertisements (Time to Pretend by MGMT), everything about it was awesome.

  3. The Super Mario Bros. Movie
  4. The Super Mario Bros. Movie

I absolutely loved watching the Mario Movie, especially since I used to be a huge Nintendo fan growing up as a kid. In fact, I loved it so much I watched it twice! Now of course it wasn't perfect but it was marginally better than Super Mario Bros. (1993). We don't discuss that one anymore.

Game of the Month

Another massive thanks to my supervisor for the idea.

March Game of the Month

HELLDIVERS 2

Helldivers 2

A quick description from the developers (can be found on the Steam page): "HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats." While you may play as the bad guy lore-wise, that doesn't mean the gameplay sucks. In fact, it's a gold mine of potential which is unfortunately wasted by a seemingly incompetent dev team that relies on external studios for most, if not all, of the content released in recent times. While outsourcing is an industry norm, it leaves the question of "What does Arrowhead do?" This question has been left unanswered to this day.
